GINGER IS LIFE!

The unique fragrance and flavor of ginger come from the phytochemical, gingerol:

the main bioactive compound in ginger, responsible for much of its medicinal properties. It has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

AS A HOT TEA OR IN SOUP:

Ginger can treat nausea and vomiting after surgery, and in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. It can also be used to relieve nausea related to morning sickness and sea sickness. The anti-inflammatory properties of ginger can reduce muscle soreness and pain, and can help treat osteoarthritis.

UNCOOKED OR JUICED:

Chronic indigestion, dyspepsia, is characterized by recurrent pain and discomfort in the upper part of the stomach. "Delayed emptying" of the stomach is a major driver of indigestion. Ginger has been shown to speed up emptying of the stomach in people with this condition.

STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT GINGER MAY IMPROVE BRAIN FUNCTION AND PROTECT AGAINST ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE!

USE:

Ginger can be boiled in soups and as tea, sliced thin as a garnish, or accompany a salad.

To make tea:

Simply slice about 4oz of ginger and add to 6 cups of simmering water on a medium heat, cover tightly, and simmer for 25 minutes.

Serve with your favorite tea bags, lemon juice and local honey!
