LONGEVITY

I rarely post about me, so here's a long boring read to the health enthusiasts: When I was a kid I'd found out about a guy from China by the name of Li Ching Yuen, and it had been reported that he'd lived to be 256 years old. Though it's hard to fathom, learning what he did along the way made it seem more understandable. He grew and ate plants, seeds, berries, roots, and had a steady regimen of deep breathing exercises, that came with a consistent strengthening of the body in forms and techniques. He was a widely known herbalist, collecting herbs as a small child, and was a martial arts teacher in the military(an art that he created, combined with herbalist practices, that would be practiced worldwide later).

As a 9 year old I wanted my own "something like that", and had simultaneously learned about the subject of the BMI. These days we all know how unrealistic the BMI scale is, but it was the initial notion behind it's innovation, that piqued my interest. "The human heart is intricately designed to pump and nourish the potential of the body that the heart specifically belongs to" as Lambert Adolphe Jacques Quetelet stated. Thus, a timeline was created. In my pursuit of the science of exercise and kinesthetic understanding(11 years old reading the unabridged World Book Encyclopedia on physiology/anatomy, but couldn't sit through social studies for the life of me🙄). Over the years I've "carried" between 218-230 lbs respectively (99-104kg), and have topped at 242 lbs. I've always known that my body was too large, at 6'2" to expect to break any records in longevity. The standard North American men's health practices have led men to begin a serious and very consistent norm of decline in their 40's(I'll be 42 in March, so you can understand my interests at this point). I've finally completed my own comprehensive diet, for all ages and levels of athleticism. It is a whole food consumption practice, including juices, teas, tinctures and more, that has created very significant results for thousands of people over the years, and I'm using it now to finally reduce my bodyweight, naturally, to around 195 lbs. At 204, I'm am currently lighter than I weighed when I was in culinary school in 98, just before my jaw was shattered by a tire iron swung by an ex-con who'd just been freed, and didn't appreciate my aggression on the basketball court at Foster Park on Chicago's south side🙄. My energy is through the roof, almost to a fault 🤣, injury free, 0 joint issues, with piles of miles of hard, aggressive training; taking zero supplements and acquiring all nutritional needs through food.

When designing your whole food practice, ask yourself these three questions: 1. Did it grow? 2. Where did it grow? 3. How much needed to be done to it in order for me to consume it? If your answers to these questions are, "I don't know" then it had better be water(and even then, you've gotta be careful)! I may not reach 256 years, but those who do not have interest are forfeiting their lot. 11 Keys to Success: I. Beans Ii. Fresh Greens III. Fresh Herbs IV. Fresh Fruits V. Seeds/nuts VI. Legumes VII. Roots VIII. Water IX. Breadth of breath X. Meditation Start where you are, one step at a time, one day at a time.
